As the founder of Kisserup International Trade Roots Canada Inc., Kisserup Europe and Kisserup Arctic, Pernille has over 25 years of international business experience. She provides advisory services, project management, trade training and consulting services to public and private sector organizations worldwide. She is facilitating public/private partnership development, consulting and export development services and has established successful joint ventures across the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Asia, Pacific, Latin, South and North America. With comprehensive experience conducting global projects she has worked on contracts funded by the European Development Fund (EDF), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the Caribbean Development Bank and the United Nations Development Program.

Several of her projects have been showcased as Best Practices on SME Development in ACP by European Union funded Donors. She has worked on projects in over 90 countries, on 6 continents and in 25 sectors. She is frequently retained as a keynote speaker on international trade, investment and entrepreneurship in both private and public sectors and she is an internationally recognised Subject Matter Expert on SME development.

  • From 2002 – 2008,  Pernille served as the appointed the Nova Scotia SME representative on the Federal SME Advisory Board to the Federal Minister of International Trade in Ottawa, Canada.
  • In 2007, she was awarded the Women of Excellence Award in the category of education and public affairs by the Canadian Progress Club.
  • ​Every year since 2008, she has been nominated for the Royal Bank of Canada’s Women of Excellence awards.
  • In  2014 she was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada by Women of Influence Inc. ©.
  • In 2017 she was appointed to the Atlantic Growth Advisory Group.

She currently serves on several international Boards, she volunteers her services as a volunteer Mentor to The Immigrant Settlement Services of Nova Scotia Canada, the Centre for Women in Business and serves as the Past Co-Chair of the charity Dress for Success in Halifax, Canada. She never misses a Roskilde Festival and volunteers there every year. She is on the Advisory Board “Ask the Experts” on PROFIT ́s Magazine.

Pernille is a graduate of Scandinavian Executive Institute, Leadership and Innovation at INSEAD, France,  the Copenhagen School of Business; she is a Certified International Trade Professional by the Forum for International Trade Training in Ottawa, Canada and holds a Certificate in Project Management from Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia, Canada.
